Transworld Publishers which is a division of Penguin Random House in the UK published these eBooks. I do have them from Transworld.
I do think this is ridiculous. It will lead to piracy.

It could be that they don't see other platforms as worth the effort, Amazon is still estimated to have close to 90% of the eBook market share in the US.
Just as aside, Ringworld is available on the Apple bookstore as are the Belgariad and the rest of Eddings books. It's listed as a different publisher than Amazon, so it might not be legit, but I can't say that bothers me a lot.
