Sadly many things, not just ebooks are georestricted. Sometimes it's rights (paper books) and sometimes it's USA divide and conquer marketing, where they even charge different ex VAT Euro prices across the EU. The EU is trying to stamp out this exploitive behaviour, but very slowly. With Brexit, people from UK with UK accounts have lost streaming content when in EU countries.

Video, games, clothes are all geo-priced and both Levi and Burbury have blocked with winning court cases against imports they didn't approve. Not smuggled or counterfeit. That's obscene.
