Ended with all badges but two -- the stupid "register a Kindle" one, and the platinum for getting all the other ones. Oh well.
I am torn about gamification - I think it's a great way to incentivize activities, but when they are poorly done, or built by people with no experience building game systems, you get the kind of nonsense we got here -- different badges for different people, silly badges with ridiculous requirements, etc. Eventually they can lead to less engagement, not more.
