That's because in the UK, most pencils do not come with an eraser on the end.

I prefer US style dates. But I do thing computer dates are best. 2021-01-28 is the best format for a date. That should be used worldwide.
And if the UK ditched metric, gas would be cheaper as they'd pay by the gallon and not the smaller sized litre.
