I set up Thunderbird with my gmail account. I sent a text file to both a Yahoo address and my Kindle address. The file was received by both Yahoo and my Kindle immediately.

Edit: Thunderbird used different server settings. I'll try them in Calibre.

Edit2: No, that didn't work.
