That sounds like a reboot because the process watcher (called sickel) decided a process had hung. And at a guess, it is probably to do with the structure of the epub.
In the book, did you put all the images into a single internal file? If so, it is probably hanging while trying to render the file with all those images. I have tested this and it rebooted the device as described. Putting the images in separate files, or in smaller groups will work.
