The only issue I have had with third-party covers, is that they wear out faster. And in the case of my Aura H2O, that meant the front cover was looser and the magnet didn't always line up properly. It worked perfectly when new, but, after six months or so of use, I would find it hadn't gone to sleep when the cover was closed.

I would also say that most showed wear and tear elsewhere faster than the official covers. But, that might be because the covers were low-cost rather than any real defect.
