Of course this is possible, you can use the Kindle like an Android tablet. Nearly.

I use a Kindle Fire HD 10 /2019 works like a charm, with:
Google-Play Store,
my calendar app,
Bluemail - email,
own FileExplorer,
own Galerie - with Diashow,
Disney+,
Own Keyboard (I use MS SwiftKey)
Opera Browser,
Pocketbook (epub Reader),
Yr (weather)

... many more.
I remove many software.

All this without rooting.
But the guarantee may be gone
