What kind of books do you plan to read?
If they're epub, mobi, or azw books, then a small e-ink screen will work fine. You can just switch the font sizes, and reflow everything.
If they're pdf, then a larger screen will be necessary. If you can't use the standard glowing screens, large e-ink screens can get expensive.
What kind of user interface?
If you have trouble with touchscreens, then either a button-based device, or a touch device with a lot of accessibility settings. I had a hard time with an Icarus Illumina before it broke, but an easier time with a Likebook Mars. Still trouble typing, and with certain menus in less-responsive spots.
