For those who don't understand Russian, here is a very rough translation:

The poplar covered me with autumn leaves.

The autumn answered me with a torrent of rain.

I asked the rain: 'Where is my beloved?'
For a long while the rain shed tears outside my window.

I asked the moon: 'Where is my beloved?'
The moon hid in the cloud, did not answer me.

I asked the cloud: 'Where is my beloved?'
The cloud melted away in the blue of the sky.

'My friend, my only friend, where is my beloved?
Tell me where she hid. Do you know where she is? '

The loyal friend answered, the honest friend answered:
'She was your beloved, she was your beloved,
she was your beloved, but now she is my wife.'
