This discussion would be more useful if all mass market paperbacks or trade paperbacks or hardcover books were the same height and width. Sadly, I'm looking a shelf filled MMPBs and the tallest one is about 2cm taller than the shortest. A group of 6 trade paperbacks show size variance as do several shelves full of hard covers.
