I am having the same issue. I purchased the new MacBook Air (M1 chip) and it it does not detect my kobo at all. Tried in my old 2013 Macbook and another 2018 MacBook and it worked on both so it appears to be an issue with either:
- Big Sur
- The new MacBooks
- Kobo
