To install a nonstandard Raspberry Pi Linux onto a microsd card and it booted and runs like a charm.
It looks like they make what you want. And that 5-in-1 hub looks like it could be handy.

It was a bit of a Frankenstein setup; the microsd card reader was wide and the USB A ports on the laptop I was using are very close together. So I plugged the microsd card reader into the hub and plugged the ethernet cable into it and then used the converter to plug it into the laptop.
Have you tried those hubs and adapters with a Kobo? Because I have two USB C/USB A adapters that work perfectly with everything else, even a Kindle, but not with my Kobo.
