What's their firmware like? Can one easily install other apps? No mention of a stylus so it doesn't seem to be a note taking device... Sometimes one gets what one pays for.
Personally, unless I was in immediate need of a new ereader, I would wait to see what the new year brings. Am rather hoping that somebody comes out with a large screen colour eink note taking device.
