KU/Whispersync Question

I signed up for two free months of KU the other day, mainly to pick up some $1.99 Whispersync deals. Several of the KU titles I want are "read and listen for free"; when I borrow them with KU, the accompanying audiobooks show up in my Audible library. But I don't want to listen for free; I want to buy them for $1.99 because that small price is worth it to me to be able to listen on my mp3 player.

Unless I'm missing something, there doesn't seem to be an option to buy the audiobook once a "read and listen" e-book is borrowed. AM I missing something? I should think Amazon/Audible would be happy to take my money, but ... ?
