Both Tolinos and Pocketbooks have ADE built-into their devices. So, that would be one way to go — though you wouldn't be reading on your tablet. That's what I've been doing (I also run Linux). The easiest way to do it is buy your eBook, download the .ascm file, send that file to your download folder on the Tolino or Pocketbook via the USB cable, then download the book via the device (you'll have to set up an account with Adobe ADE). You can buy ePubs just about anywhere going this route — but you'd still have to either install ADE in Wine or dual-boot or use a Windows Virtual Machine to DeDRM the books so you could read them into Calibre.
Another route is to go with Kobo. I'm pretty sure you can download a Kobo app and read books purchased from Kobo on your tablet. Not sure if there's a Kobo "de-drm" for Calibre that works in Linux or not.
