There are a few bookstores who don't use DRM at all: Baen (mostly science fiction and fantasy) and Smashwords are the only ones I know of.
So I'm afraid you'll have to either be limited in the ebooks you can read, or go through the hassle of installing wine and the setup JSWolf described.
