2. yes, has magnet cover feature.
3. yes, you can sideload apps. I just download apks from the net, but you can activate the playstore, though you might need to mess around a bit.

Disadvantages compared to Kindle are lower battery life, and also contrast maybe not quite as good? But it's okay. Also Poke has nice orange light. It's a good reader. Recommended.
