Small Magics is a collection of short stories and some Curran POV that I quite enjoyed. I especially liked
Magic Tests, which is a short story featuring Julie, Kate's ward, who is also about to make an appearance in January of next year with a self-pubbed book of her own,
Blood Heir. I've always kind of wished Julie would hook up with Yu Fong, from
Magic Tests, but the partially-serialized version of
Blood Heir that was on the IA website for a while seemed to indicate that it's going to be Derek, not Yu Fong. (Not a spoiler, since it's already been on the IA website, and also not for certain, but certainly looked that way...) Sigh! In any case,
