In case this helps anyone... I added this to an existing group, and when I went to play music, it said something like "... the service is unavailable ..." (I don't recall the wording). I quickly called Amazon, and then found that in the group, audio was going to the Dot that was in the group (and the Dot was powered off).

Did Amazon give you guys a free 3 months of Prime Music with your new Echos? They used to do that, but I’m not sure if they still do.
I've encountered group default speaker settings too. I think that setting was added during an update a while back. I had to do internet searches to find what the issue was. IMO, groups and scenes are still flaky in their implementations, and they don't always play by the rules.
