Your original PDF has the original scanned pages (the 'images') and a reflowable text version, probably OCRed from the scanned pages.
The conversion of the PDF is producing a file with both the scanned page and the OCRed text. By converting to an ePub, it should be fairly easy to just delete all the unwanted scanned pages before converting to your final format.

Yeah, I do in this way. It's not so hard, but when I need to convert MANY books so it rly take time to do that for every single book. Maybe in future there will come smth like "Remove all images from file"
