Anyway, I don't disagree with you, the Libra is the closest thing to what I want that exists right now and is within my budget. It's just that I've only recently started looking at ereaders, so I'm not as knowledgeable about each companies product cycles and so forth.

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something slated for the holiday season before making the purchase.
Kobo's releases are usually in April or October (though sometimes in the month either side). They make an announcement about a month before that. They don't release a device every year in both of those times. And they frequently skip two in a row, but, rarely skip three.

We sometimes see some evidence of the new device a month or so before the announcement in an FCC listing or a firmware update. When we do, they usually give just enough details to start a long thread speculating on exactly what it means. Including whether it will be released for Mother's Day or not.

And my guess at this time is for an update/replacement for the Forma or Clara HD. Or something different such as a colour e-ink or maybe audio (the latter is from @geek1011's comments about the firmware).
