For me, the inclusion of digital copies encourage me to buy physical rather than purely digital. It also made the price increase for first release movies more palatable instead of waiting for an eventual sale.

Marvel digital copies certainly got me to step foot in the local comic shop instead of just buying direct from Amazon/comiXology.
