I guess there is no way for me to gift her the books I’ve bought on my Amazon account.

Do you have her on your account formally, by setting your account as a Family Account?
If not, you can do it now and she can have her own account but remain linked to yours. And vice versa. She'll be able to keep her existing library and keep growing it on her own.
