I'm also a slow reader, but I have a lot of time to devote to reading. I only watch about 3 hours of tv a week leaving lots of time for books: 2-3 hours/night + 10 hours/weekend. Like most people, technical books take much longer to absorb than fiction. Still, I manage about 100 books as year.
