Obviously I don't know about the cradle, but I left my Reader attached to the USB port on my computer overnight recently. I noticed in the morning that the USB symbol was very dark, and when I unplugged it left noticable ghosting. After a few page refreshes the effect was entirely gone, but I resolved not to do that again!
