Just deleted a book and re-loaded it to make sure everything was still working. No problem. I haven't heard of any issues with the Kindle for Mac, but I would not be shocked if some files got moved around and that is causing problems. You do have to have a kindle device in order to download your content and for the alf plug in to work with it. Instructions are included in the plugin.

I just did this method as well on Mac mini M1 Big Sur and it works fine. (Thanks for the tip, this is easier anyway!)
