It appears to be easier to adapt iOS app to macOS than the other way around. We still don’t have Logic or Final Cut for iPad. It took Adobe a long time to get Photoshop for iPad, and Illustrator for iPad just shipped.

Going the other way, Music, News, Home apps (among others) are essentially iOS apps.

But there’s still some work to optimize for macOS, and developers may not think it is worth it.
