Sorry for all these "updates" but this forum does not let me edit posts older than a few minutes old.
I turned off the screen saver by SSHing in and running the command "lipc-set-prop com.lab126.powerd preventScreenSaver 1"
So I more or less solved my issue, except now my battery is only going to last 2 days instead of a month.
Is there some sort of jailbreak alternate screen saver app? Like one I can run from the menu or by typing something in? Perhaps something like that can solve all my issues with this thing.
I really don't know what's up with the power switch on this thing. It does NOT respond to putting the Kindle DX into sleep mode, or taking it out of sleep mode. But if I hold it for 40 seconds, my Kindle DX reboots, which means the power button/slider, physically speaking, is working just fine. It's just that the Kindle DX doesn't respond to it for some reason. Unless it's for a forced reboot!
I received this as a gift from my sister who is no longer with us and I'd do anything to keep using this thing for as long as possible. It reminds me of her every time I use it. Plus I just love how big it is. No one makes one this size any more. So I am really desperate to keep using it. I feel like there's gotta be a jailbreak way around this to fix it.
