@parkher: EInk devices do not provide any transmitted light, but only incident light (this corresponds to lighting from the outside) - they are therefore not comparable with LCD or other luminous screens.
And I think that the internal lighting should only be used as a light source in emergencies, only when there is no ambient light, but mainly serve to enhance contrast.
And although I have Quad 32 inch screens at my workstations, I now prefer to work with documents in a light environment on my little-lit (approx. 10%) Boox Note Air - it strains my eyes much less.
And I only use EInk for music notes, simply because it doesn't light itself and is also glare-free.
Yes, I even use EInk for my navigation system - my Poke Pro in A2 mode is ideal for this via BT connection to my Unihertz Atom (micro smartphone).
