oh geez, another update.
I figured out the issue. The guide I was following didn't mention this. But the command was apparently supposed to be
ssh root@192.168.15.244
I didn't have the username "root" in there.
So I figured it all out! I set the clock with the following command:
date 110623222020
The only thing I still desperately need help with is the sleep issue. The power button will not put the device in sleep mode, and it won't take it out of sleep mode. I know the power button is fine because if I hold it for a long period of time it will reboot the Kindle. It's a glitch that happened with the latest update.
I am hoping there is some sort of jailbreak software fix for this!
