I had heard of it and added to Amazon wishlist. It went on sale for about $3, so I bought it. I just don't like the genre. Didn't know when I bought it that a snake is part of the imagery and that the recurring symbol is a snake in a circle biting it's own tail.

Does anyone know if Silvia Moreno-Garcia's other books are part of the same genre? I like her writing style enough to read more if it's not about horror. It was good for Halloween reading but not so good for election days.
I also just finished Mexican Gothic last night. It ran a little long for me, because I figured out the hook pretty early on. I agree with her writing being nice and I did love the main character.

I'm not sure about a lot of her other fiction, but I did pick up her new book Gods of Jade and Shadow, which is not horror. It is set in the Jazz Age in Mexico.
