Kindle 2 bricked (i certainly hope not)

I recently received my Kindle 2 and being the kind of guy that I am I soon installed [clarknova]s' screen saver hack 0.4.

In the process of putting pictures on my Kindle i am pretty sure that i accidentally put one .jpg in the /system directory instead of the /screen_saver directory.

Now my Kindle is stuck on the "Your Kindle is starting up. / This can take a minute." screen. It has been like that for a while now and is unresponsive to any button pushing. It doesn't even respond to plugging it into power or my computer, the status LED doesn't turn on.

I didn't delete any files from the /system directory. I didn't even delete the "framework.mario.conf.orig" and "framework.mario.conf.new" files that where left over from the screen saver hack.

It would be great if I could get this fixed (i would prefer to do this on my own and not send it back to amazon) so any help pointing me in the right direction or an out right fix would be greatly appreciated since all that I have now is a $360 brick.
