I’m taking stock for October, since I need to do much better. I bought four books, which was way above my mean through September of under three; the outlay was in line with the established mean. The worst of it is that I do regret one purchase, the most expensive; Amazon sucked me in with one of those $5 off a specific Random House book on your wishlist, but even with $5 off, the appeal/price ratio wasn’t good enough. I wasn’t going to get it more cheaply, but that’s not sufficient justification.
I need to be more stringent about my wishlist in terms of books whose interest level is most likely never going to match the price, especially since I do fall for some Amazon-specific deals because of the “now or never” aspect. In addition, once it’s no longer possible to download and strip Amazon books which seems as if it’s coming, I really don’t want books I can’t put on my Kobo.
I’m hoping that typing all this out is reinforcement!
One final note: I had a goal of reading everything I bought this year and I was going gangbusters into April when I lost it. Right now, I’m at half.

This was a very good resolution, however, so I’d like to pick it up for going forward. I’ll work on it for the rest of the year and see how well I can do by year’s end.
