Did you compare it unlighted?
There should hardly be any differences, unless a device still has an infrared touchscreen (one layer less)
In general: each additional layer makes the screen darker and thus reduces the contrast.
Lighting makes it brighter and increases contrast.
And that's the only difference, because all EInk modules come from the same manufacturer, including the controls.
