General question about attaching plugin zip files

I'm about to release a new version of my 'TTS to MP3' plugin. The new version will only run on calibre v5.4 and above and I've set the plugin's minimum_calibre_version accordingly.

Existing users of 'TTS to MP3' running a calibre version <v5.4 should be OK because they won't be offered the upgrade. But I would like to attach the older version of the plugin zip somewhere in the main thread for new users to find (and install manually) if they want it.

My question is, am I right in thinking that post #1 of a plugin's main thread should only ever contain a single zip file, i.e. the latest version? Or can I store 2 zips in there without upsetting calibre's automated plugin update system?
