Rant - Big Box hardware stores....
I need to replace some soaker hoses cut up by my digging of cannas, Ok, no problem, go to big box hardware store and buy soaker hoses and brass end replacements so I can cut to length. Go to big box store looking for 5/8 inch diameter soaker hoses. All they have this year are 1/2 inch soaker hoses. Grumble, grumble, less water flow, grumble. Go to get brass end replacements, they're all for 5/8 inch hose diameter. Can't be used on a 1/2 inch soaker hose! Have to go halfway across town to super-specialty hardware store. Find and buy 5/8 inch soaker hoses. Get home, rebuild and find a cut in one of 1/2 soakers I put in 10 years ago that would be difficult to replace. No 1/2 brass ends! Have to go back to super-specialty store to get end replacements. Stupid big box stores!!!! (And this is not just one brand-name box, but 2 of them doing the same thing!!!)
