I have been editing and fixing epub books that I have downloaded. One of the issues I have not been able to handle is when fonts are broken. This is probably a terribly complex issue with no quick answers, but I could use a tip when a font .oft file shows up in the calibre file broswer with an exclamation point and when running the "check book" function gives this error:

ERROR: Not a valid font: unpack_from requires a buffer of at least 52092 bytes for unpacking 16 bytes at offset 52076 (actual buffer size is 52080)****[OEBPS/Fonts/font00292.otf]

Note i am on macos
