Iirc, 5.8.9.2 is weird (UPDATE ERROR: 16 when installing factory fw directly). So for this, you'll need to install customer 5.9.6.1 then factory 5.9.6.1 before running factory jailbreak.

So yes it
is possible to go from 5.8.9.2 > customer 5.9.6.1 > factory 5.9.6.1 > open sesame generic instructions ( factory jailbreak ) ?
A definitive 'yes or no' would be immensely more helpful than the last three answers I've received.
