You missed this part of the wiki.

Open Sesame are the generic instructions. You'll note it mentions that you need to install factory firmware first before you can jailbreak.

These instructions are specific for PW3 with FW <= 5.9.6.1. Just use the latest versions of the files from snapshots.

Iirc, 5.8.9.2 is weird (UPDATE ERROR: 16 when installing factory fw directly). So for this, you'll need to install customer 5.9.6.1 then factory 5.9.6.1 before running factory jailbreak.

P.S. I've just edited the wiki to make the special cases for PW3 and PW4 more prominent.
