Things that slow Calibre copy to library

I was wondering if there were specific column types or data types, or choices when setting configurations that might affect how fast Calibre runs when copying to different libraries.

I noticed that the time it takes to copy books from one library to another really has gone up, and was wondering if there was something that I could do to improve it.

I have a lot of long text columns and heirarchal columns, so I wasn't sure if that could be a reason.

Also, is what is the difference between, and what type of data is best for the plain text, plain text edited using markdown and html?
