You (justifiably) may not like it, but it seems that is the way the iOS app works: it just lists them in the order they occur in the book, starting with the first one, and without any indicator of your current reading position relative to highlights/bookmarks/notes list.

Note that you can Filter the list by chapter, and Search will include results from highlights and notes that you have created. And Page Flip (if available for the book) has indicators on the thumbnails with annotations.

It’s probably not worth comparing it with the Android app if you are running KitKat: you will have an older version of the Kindle app, and it may not work very well even then (based on my experience - I have such an old Android phone). I could not get it to sync collections properly, for example.

But for what it’s worth, the current Android app seems to ‘scroll to current location’ (but again, without any indication of where current location is in the list). Maybe the iOS app did this too at one point, and has regressed.
