There is a FIXED bug in Calibre5 that made it send all Metadata again, but not a fail to connect.
I also suggest you snoop your network (look at connections in the router) and see if the Server and devices are on different BANDS
Sad to say that ISP's needed (because the user can't be relied upon) to Push Router updates WITHOUT Notice, and those can cause assignments to move.
FWIW I used to be able to logon to my router and set Port Forwards. No longer: I must use their Web App
