I have a 7.8 nova and nova pro and a 6" poke pro. Personally I think 7.8" is as large as I'd want to go for an e-reader. 10" will be really handy if you want to read A4 format PDF.

The Oasis screen and contrast might be better than the Onyx. After all, Onyx can't match Amazon's resources. For example, the Nova contrast is weaker than a Nook 3GL. But I got used to Nova, and the weaker contrast doesn't bother me. Also, I think the Nook contrast is better than the Oasis or a Kobo. So it's not a fair comparison. But don't worry. I'm really fussy about contrast, and I'm okay with the Nova.

Also the Onyx has a nice orange comfort light. It's not as nice as the Nook, which is a deep red, but it's better than the Kobo, which is a pale yellow in comparison.

Anyway, depends what you want. I like my Onyx. I have 4 now *eye roll* They are solid hardware that lasts.

I suggest you buy it from Amazon, or Onyx themself, or Booxtor in Germany, in case there is a problem.
