I do get annoyed at the "Buy It Now" high prices of some old glassware made by Heisey. Much of it is rare and old, but a lot of it is priced too high. It used to bring amazing prices, but isn't so popular right now.
Selling grossly overpriced items is a relatively easy way to launder money. ;-) You see the same thing on Amazon these days--a used book for $1500 or even $500 and the like. At one point in time, people naively thought it was someone looking to take advantage of that one bozo buyer, but I strongly suspect that the Laundry is the point.
