You don't need to copy books back and forth between the Kindle and the PC. Once you have registered the Kindle, you'll see the option "Transfer via Computer" in delivery options when you're about to buy a book, and "Download and transfer via USB" on your Content & Devices page. Use these options to download the files to your PC and de-DRM them.
