There were a few reports of a whine coming from the Forma when it was first released. I don't remember seeing one recently. That it is only noticeable when using it in landscape mode could be the way the sound is directed, or that in portrait mode, your hands are blocking the sound.
Beyond that, I have had other electronic devices that whine when in use. Especially when under load. That the whine in your Forma only happens when turning pages makes sense as it is basically sleeping between page turns. It might also make sound when importing books after sideloading.
Whether this is an indication of a problem, I don't know. It could be a change in your reading environment that means you now hear it.
