Understood. And to each their own. FWIW, from a software perspective, most modern book engines are in fact web engines now see the iBooks, ADE SDK, the Readium SDK, etc.
I am not arguing against e-inks. I am arguing against requiring an extra app just to show a book that does have audio, video, mathml, and that uses javascript (think a modern Textbook). For light pure text stuff, any reader will suffice. But for modern TextBook's using epub3 (or a cloud based web reader) seems to be how things are being done with no need for the older separate apps.
