We shall see.

The Max 2 got updates from 1.8.3 all the way to 2.3.1, across a span of two years. The Max 2 Pro came out later, with better hardware specs, and started with firmware 2.1.2. So if this trajectory is any guide, maybe the Max 2 Pro and other "Pro" devices will go up to firmware 3.0? But as with some other updates, maybe the functionality may lack one or two features that newer devices benefit from.

Personally I would be very happy with updated NeoReader and Notes apps with the new features such as layers, new brushes, Powerpoint support, page management, etc. Also would be nice to get the e-ink optimised browser. Any additional features from firmware 3.0 would be a nice bonus, but maybe not likely without an Android upgrade.
