Finally!! It took me doing the nuclear option of logging out and relogging in, but it wasn't that big of a deal since I had just factory reset the day before and lost all my annotatons etc anyway...
After that I did have to reload that one problematic book carefully. It seems that once I matched it to the book in my library but used your plugin to update the cache as opposed to what I did before, my problem was solved! No idea WHY the manual updating of the cache would hang my sync forever, but I'm just glad finally to have an ereader that can sync again! Thanks, David, for the help! I have a lot to learn with Calibre and I hope I don't do anything to fuck things up again....
